Volume 4 of Declan T. Bridge’s series on how markets really work. It starts with why the currency market exists at all, because a company in one country has to pay a supplier in another, and ends with what it costs to hold a trade overnight: how prices are quoted and read, how trades settle, the tools central banks use to set interest rates, and what really moves a currency.

All transactions are secure and encrypted. Card details are encrypted and never stored on our servers.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Work out what a currency trade costs to hold overnight, and why Wednesday night costs three times as much.
  • Read any currency quote and say at once which currency you own and which you owe.
  • Work out what one pip is worth for any pair, in your own account’s currency.
  • Explain why strong economic data can still send a currency down: prices move on the surprise, not the number.
  • Tell whether a pair fell because that currency weakened, or because the dollar strengthened.
  • Hear a central bank announce a move and say how it reaches the exchange rate, and whether it signals urgency or routine.

Questions, answered.

How do I get it after I pay?

Straight away. After you pay you go to a download page, and the same link is emailed to you. Save the files to your phone, tablet or computer. There’s no app to install and no account to log in to.

Do I need any experience?

No. Every book starts from zero, explains each term the first time it’s used, and teaches things in the order you need them.

Will it tell me what to buy, or make me money?

No. The books teach how markets work. They never tell you what to buy or sell, and nothing in them promises a profit. They are for education only.

Can I read some before I buy?

Yes. Read a sample opens the whole Preface, the pictures at the top are real pages, and the Curriculum tab above lists every chapter. Volume 1 is also free with code ICEBERG100.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once and it’s yours to keep. Any updates are free.

Can I get a refund?

Because the books are digital and arrive instantly, all sales are final. That’s why so much is free to read first. A double charge or a wrong amount is always put right, and your legal rights are not affected.

Which is the best value?

All 6 books: £199.99, which is £33.33 a book. One book on its own is £69.99. So all 6 cost less than 3 books bought one at a time.

If I buy one book now, can I get the rest later?

Yes, but each order is separate, so the price of a book you already own can’t be taken off the set later. If you think you’ll want more than two books, all 6 is the cheaper way to get them.
